Nothing in this world is more consistent than change. This week was bitter sweet as our beloved mission presidents and his wife were released after three years of service. We love them and loved spending time with them after we were transferred to Richmond. We had the blessing of being their friends. Now we have a new president,. It is president Wong , a general authority. He will only serve for two years because of being a general authority. We have had the chance to talk with him twice in the two days he has been here. We had dinner with him and the other office couples this evening. He is a quiet gentle man who has the dignity of a general authority. He is funny and slips in a funny line here & there. We enjoyed a great meal in a beautiful courtyard surrounded by pink roses &  purple hydrangeas. We had a beautiful green salad, fried rice, grilled chicken, mangos and cherry cheesecake. The company was delightful. He asked each couple to tell him about our children & grandchildren. When we said we had 24 grandchildren, he said :" you must get one more to make it 25 ". I said :"we are ready to start on the great grandchildren now. " He told us they had three sons when they thought that would be their family. Several years later they had a suprise. She was born in December so they wrote on their Christmas cards : "Joy to the Wongs".  Her name is Joy because they are so happy to have her. He told us children & grandchildren are of most importance to the Lord. President Wong is really family oriented & also concerned about how the mission spends tithing money. He is very different from President Burt. I'm sure we will love him too ❤️.
This week we had two new students join our English class. I couldn't pronounce their names so I gave them new ones; Tom and Mary.  Now we have four students I have named myself, Tom, Mary, Ben & Star. Our English class has been has been a fun blessing for us on our mission. We love teaching it twice a week.
I'm still going to physical therapy and walking with a cane. My knee is not healing at all yet. But I know it will. I really don't want to come home walking with a cane. I had to take all the ribbons & jewels off because we went to the temple on Friday. Time to redecorated it !
Stan has been helping Elder Torman , the other office senior move apartments and furniture. Stan is in good health, strong and works hard. I have renamed him Atlas.
We're busy helping the President with moving missionaries here and there. He also gave us the assignment to sell both he & sister Burt's IPhone 6 Plus . Not an easy task as people want to buy new ones not used; even if they are in mint condition.
Saturday was 150 year celebration for Canada. The city was a buzz with so many people and tons to do. My two friends (seniors from the office ) & I went to the parade, had lunch at a famous cafe, and bought hats. I'll post a picture. It was so much fun. We invited our husbands but none of them wanted to fight the crowds. Wow ! We had fun.
Everyday is so busy. We pack so much into each day. What a blessed feeling it is to be in the service of our God. Yesterday we went to our ward for three hours and then stayed to attend the Chinese ward. We had a Chinese investigator with us. We couldn't understand a word that was said, but the spirit was so stong. I love to be in those kind of meetings because that is when the spirit teaches me. I have had the opportunity to learn so much on this mission. Who ever said :" you can't teach an old dog new tricks "? It is amazing what we can learn if we allow the spirit to teach us.
The investigator we brought slept through the entire meeting. At the end we asked him what he thought. He said : "Do you have an English speaking church ?"
"  Time flies like wings of lightening", our mission is coming to an end. We're still working hard as if we were two diligent twenty year olds. The Lord accepts whatever we can give but we want to give our all because He gave all for us. The Atonement is so vast, so encompassing, we can never fully understand all He has done for us. So we feel we can give a short measure back to Him.
We love our Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. We love the Book of Mormon. We love the Gospel of peace and happiness. It is available to all who will accept Christ as their Savior. We love you all. In a future day we will see you all. Always keep the faith. Don't let the world derail you.

Love, Elder & Sister Fisher
